Durham Jones & Pinegar attorney Ariane H. Dansie, along with her siblings created the James Arnold Holtkamp Scholarship Fund in honor of their father, James Holtkamp.
Mr. Holtkamp spent more than 40 years practicing environmental law in Utah and until recently, served as a senior fellow at the College of Law’s Wallace Stegner Center for Land, Resources and the Environment. Due to declining health, he is no longer able to teach and misses mentoring law students.
However, Mr. Holtkamp’s family found a way he could still benefit students by setting up a legacy scholarship in his name. Dansie said “Helping law students who want to go into environmental law is important to the family because many of the students Holtkamp mentored want to work for organizations or governments instead of seeking higher paying jobs in private practice.” This scholarship will help pay-off student’s debts, giving them an opportunity to afford to work where they want.
Ariane Dansie practices estate planning at Durham Jones and Pinegar and attributes her father for her successful career. “A lot of his traits I try to emulate because of the kind, good person he is.”, she said. We are grateful to have altruistic attorneys like Ariane Danise as part of the DJP team.
