W. WALDAN LLOYD, SHAREHOLDER AT DURHAM JONES & PINEGAR, SPEAKS AT THE DENVER SUMMIT OF THE WESTERN PENSION & BENEFITS COUNCIL
Waldan Lloyd spoke at the Denver Summit of the Western Pension & Benefits Council (WP&BC) held Thursday, April 26, 2018. Mr. Lloyd’s topic, “A Primer on IRS Examinations and Department of Labor Investigations”, explained the process involved in an IRS exam of an employee plan, communicating with the IRS examiner, the process in a DOL investigation and shared helpful hints.
The WP&BC is an educational organization seeking to provide further educational opportunities to employee benefits specialists. This includes those in the employee benefits legal, accounting actuarial and investment advisory fields.
Waldan Lloyd’s practice includes assisting clients on the design and operation of all forms of retirement and welfare plans, including 401(k) plans, ESOPs and VEBAs, with plan sizes ranging from those for individuals to those covering tens of thousands of employees. Lloyd’s practice also focuses on advising on ERISA compliance matters and helping plan trustees and fiduciaries in connection with plan transactions, whose benefit plans are under audit by the Internal Revenue Service or are being investigated by the Department of Labor. Lloyd has defended plan fiduciaries accused of fiduciary breaches and represented plan participants in connection with claims against fiduciaries for violations of ERISA.
