Durham Jones & Pinegar welcomed three new attorneys including Shareholder Evan A. Schmutz and Associates Rebecca G. Van Tassell and Christopher D. Wade.
Schmutz joins D|J|P after returning from serving as a mission president for the LDS church. He has experience in a variety of civil litigation fields including contracts and business torts, bank litigation, Direct Sale Marketing and FTC litigation, insurance coverage disputes, construction, defense of workplace discrimination claims, trade secret, intellectual property, car dealership and charter school litigation, business valuation claims related to business dissolutions and securities fraud claims. He received his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Schmutz will work in the firm’s Provo office.
Van Tassell served as a law clerk for Justice Lee of the Utah Supreme Court before joining the firm. She will focus on a variety of commercial litigation matters. Van Tassell received her J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 2013 and previously worked at the firm as a summer associate.
Wade joins D|J|P after graduating from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU in 2014. Wade previously worked as a summer associate for the firm. His practice will also focus on commercial litigation.
Van Tassell and Wade will both work in D|J|P’s Salt Lake City office.
