Law firm Durham Jones & Pinegar (DJP) is pleased to announce that Matt Orme and Michael Rawlins have joined the firm. Orme will work as an associate in the Firm’s Salt Lake City office and Rawlins will work as a shareholder in the Firm’s Las Vegas office.
Orme practices in the litigation section and employment law section. Prior to joining the firm he worked as a Durham Jones & Pinegar Summer Associate in the Las Vegas office, and he also worked as a legal extern to Judge Dee Benson, United States District Court Judge.
Orme earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brigham Young University and graduated cum laude from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law. Orme was also an editor of the Nevada Law Journal.
Rawlins earned both his bachelor’s degree and his J.D. from Brigham Young University. He graduated with honors from the Marriott School of Management, and at the J. Reuben Clark Law School he was the managing editor of the BYU Law Review. His academic achievements in law school earned him Order of the Coif
Rawlins enjoys a broad commercial litigation practice, including construction and mechanic’s lien litigation, real estate litigation, intellectual property litigation, contract disputes, corporate law, and partnership disputes.
He represents numerous major shopping center developers in landlord/tenant disputes and construction litigation, and he lectures for the State Bar of Nevada on landlord/tenant related matters. Michael also represents creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.
Rawlins is a member of the State Bar of Nevada, the Clark County Bar Association, and the Utah State Bar. He is admitted to practice in federal and state courts in Nevada and Utah, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He serves as a Judge Pro Tempore in the District Court, Clark County, Nevada.
