Salt Lake City — Las Vegas attorney, Philip C. Van Alstyne has been appointed to the Board of Directors with the law firm Durham Jones & Pinegar. In addition, Timothy S. Cory has joined the firm’s Las Vegas office as a shareholder.
Van Alstyne is the managing attorney of the firm’s Las Vegas office. He practices in the firm’s tax, estate planning and litigation sections. Van Alstyne received his B.S. from the University of Utah in economics, and his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. He has practiced in the Las Vegas area for 25 years.
Cory has been a solo bankruptcy practitioner and is a member of the panel of Bankruptcy Trustees in Las Vegas for more than 30 years. At D|J|P, he will continue practicing exclusively in the area of bankruptcy and insolvency, with special extensive representation of trustees in bankruptcy, both in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 appointments, and as a court-appointed receiver.
Cory graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in rhetoric and public address. He also holds a master’s degree in communication from Brigham Young University. He received his J.D. from the Washington College of Law at the American University in Washington, D.C.
