Salt Lake City — Deb Calegory, a paralegal with the Law Offices of Durham Jones & Pinegar in St. George, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Paralegal Division of the Utah State Bar. Calegory was elected to the Board on June 18, 2010, at the Utah State Bar’s Annual Paralegal Division Annual Meeting. “Deb exemplifies the best of her profession,” says Durham Jones & Pinegar Attorney Chris Engstrom. “We are pleased to have her represent our firm, and contribute in this capacity to her profession and the legal community in Utah. She has always been committed to community service.” Calegory has served in numerous leadership positions in the Utah State Bar Paralegal Division, including serving as Chair from 2001 to 2002. She also has served with the Legal Assistant Association of Utah as Director, Southern Region between 1996 and 1997. In addition, she has provided instruction for paralegal programs for Dixie State College and the Utah Chapter of the American Paralegal Association. Calegory has worked as a certified paralegal in St. George for 28 years. She initially worked for the law firm of Snow Nuffer (which merged with Durham Jones & Pinegar in 2003) from 1982 to 2004. In 2004 she joined Barney, McKenna & Olmstead in St. George, where she worked until rejoining Durham Jones & Pinegar in 2007. In 2008, Calegory was awarded the Distinguished Paralegal of the Year award by the Utah State Bar Paralegal Division. “Deb has participated in much of Southern Utah’s growth and prosperity through her work as a highly valued member in our real estate practice team,” says Jeff Starkey, Chair of Durham Jones & Pinegar’s Real Estate Section.
