Walch, Shareholder at Durham Jones & Pinegar, is slated to present in a timely webinar entitled, “Negotiating Good Service Agreements”. The seminar is hosted by Western Pension & Benefits Council Governing Board and will address why plan sponsors, plan administrators and service providers all should have a good service agreement in place, and the terms that every service agreement should include.

This webinar will take place on Wednesday, February 23rd from 10:00am-12:00pm PST, and will provide two CE Units for ASPPA and NIPA members, ERPAs, JBEA, CPAs in CA and ORE and MCLE in CA.

A good service agreement will offer protection to all parties to the agreement and fulfill ERISA obligations of any fiduciary parties.  We will cover the terms that an agreement should include, how to address risks, and what the courts have said about agreements. The target audience is anyone providing services to an employee benefit plan, plan fiduciaries and plan sponsors.

John helps all kinds of employers resolve all kinds of qualified and non-qualified benefit issues, including equity-based incentive compensation plans, ESOPs, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, qualified retirement plans and welfare benefit plans, including health, cafeteria and flexible spending plans. For over 25 years, John has designed, drafted and obtained IRS approval of hundreds of qualified retirement plans.  For plans facing disqualification or other sanctions, he has obtained dozens of compliance statements from the IRS and negotiated positive outcomes for U.S. Dept. of Labor (DOL) investigations.
