Jeffrey A. Stephens

Mr. Stephens practices in the area of intellectual property litigation, with a focus on patent infringement litigation. He is a registered patent attorney and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Litigation Sections. Mr. Stephens has represented clients in a variety of industries, including medical devices, electronics, consumer goods, lasers, drilling equipment, and more.  


In addition to representing clients before numerous federal courts in patent and other business litigation, he has experience with strategic patent portfolio management, drafting and prosecuting patents before the Patent and Trademark Office, reexamination proceedings, formal opinions, and related counseling.  

He also has experience in infringement investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission, and in trademark, trade secret, and unfair competition litigation. 

Mr. Stephens joined the firm after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Pauline Newman of the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and previously worked at an intellectual property law firm in California.
